Whether out in the community or at the library, the Friends of the Heritage Library are active in our mission of ‘Bringing people to the library and the library to the people’. Many hours are donated throughout the year in support of various events, programs, and other charitable activities.

How I Can Get Involved
The Friends of the Heritage Library host community events and programs through out the year to raise awareness and raise money to help support the library efforts. If you are interested in volunteering or becoming a member, please email us at email@example.com.
The schedule is entirely flexible. Typically we’ll try to have two volunteers per month who will pack for that month. The need/frequency of packing is dictated by the volume of library discards and drop-off donations. I wouldn’t imagine that you wouldn’t have to pack more than once, maybe twice, in a month’s time (usually an hour or so per visit). Volunteers will often coordinate between themselves and/or our book packing coordinator so that two people could be packing together and help each other out. However, sometimes it works out that just one person is available at a particular time and that is fine as well. The packing is done in a back storage room at the library and involves unshelving books from mobile carts or a fixed set of shelving, organizing them, and then storing the books in cardboard boxes.
